A natural moisturiser for Cradle Cap in Babies or Seborrheic Dermatitis in Adults.
Many people, including babies, are troubled by skin that becomes red, dry and sometimes itchy around the scalp, hairline, neck, ears, eye areas, and along the side of the nose and mouth. These are oily areas of the skin and sometimes yeast on the skin can become more prevalent and cause irritation. This version of our moisturising cream helps return the skin to a healthy condition. Like all our creams, it is safe and non-irritating and can be used anywhere on the body. MooGoo Scalp Cream can also be used as a general moisturiser.

| Ingredient | Description |
| Aqua | When we were told that we have to call our purified water “Aqua” we thought they were kidding. But we can’t fight bureaucracy. So we aren’t trying to be fancy, but we do need to call our water “Aqua” sometimes. |
| Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil | High in the types of fatty acids needed for troubled skin. |
| Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice (Aloe Vera) | Aloe Vera. Most people already know the healing and soothing benefits of Aloe Vera. We loved it before we made skin care, and we love it in our creams. |
| Cetearyl Alcohol (Plant Based Emulsifying Wax) | Creams are made from a mix of purified water and oils so as to be more moisturising than oil alone. To hold water and oils together, they need an emulsifying wax. We use a plant based wax that allows the water and oils to stay together. |
| Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil | We used coconut oil as a stabiliser, it also helps to moisturise the skin. |
| Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil | Wonderfully healthy for the skin. So many benefits, it might be best to Google "Olive Oil Skin" instead. |
| Squalene (Olive) | One of our favourite moisturising oils. It helps leave your skin moisturised and dewy. It is good for all skin types, including acne prone skin. Our body produces a small amount of squalene, but the amount diminishes when we get older, starting in our twenties. Squalene is required for our skin to keep it moisturised and fight aging. It is also a unique antioxidant from olives that protects our skin from free-radical damages. Since Olive squalene's composition is very similar to human sebum, it can penetrate our skin very quickly to help our skin to fight dryness. It enhances skin elasticity and moisture retention. |
| Allantoin | Comfrey Root has long been known as a healing plant. Allantoin was identified as the part of the plant that performed this function and it has since been synthesised to make it more concentrated and effective. So the allantoin we use is the pure ingredient. Allantoin has been termed a cell proliferant in texts such as the "United States Dispensatory". It is said to clean away dead tissue, hastening the growth of new healthy tissue. Allantoin has been also termed a counter irritant. Allantoin produces its desirable effects by promoting and speeding up the healthy, natural processes of the body. It helps the skin to help itself. It is also promoted as preventing lines and wrinkles by assisting skin repair. |
| Tocopherol (Natural Vitamin E) | We use the more expensive, natural Vitamin E in our creams, not synthetic. Natural Vitamin E has up to twice the bioavailability of synthetic forms. Vitamin E has antioxidant action as well as free radical scavenger properties. Abundant assortments of researchers from diversified medical fields have theorized that this can slow the aging process. (Sources: Skin Pharmacology and Applied Skin Physiology, November-December 2001, and Free Radical Biology and Medicine, October 1999). |
| Piroctone Olamine | Piroctone Olamine is an anti-yeast ingredient. Non-irritating, it also helps keep the cream free from bacteria and mould. |
| Acetum (Apple Cider Vinegar) | We added this originally to lower pH to that of the skin. But we also love the smell of the cream with this and honey. |
| Mel (Honey) | Honey is great for the skin and a natural anti-bacterial. However, we love it most for the balance it gives to the Apple Cider Vinegar which we also use. This makes for a beautiful smelling cream without fragrance. |
| Polysorbate 60 (Food Grade Emulsifier) | A lot of our customers are small. So small in fact that they have sometimes mistaken the creams their mums or dad’s put on the nappy change table for food. So we always choose the most edible ingredients we can. Polysorbates are used in a lot of foods like Mayonnaise, Ice-cream etc to hold the cream and water together. We use them to help with the same thing. |
| Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil | We use natural Lavender Oil. A number of recent studies have found Lavender Oil beneficial for wound healing ((Hartman & Coetzee 2002, Kerr 2002). Lavender oil also a good anti-bacterial on the skin, especially on the type of bacteria that can cause acne (Zu et al 2010). It is also moderately active against two of the principal fungi that can cause skin problems such as athlete’s foot and ringworm (Trycophyton rubrum and T. mentagrophytes) (Cassella et al 2002), and highly active against a third, Candida albicans (D’Auria et al 2005). A Japanese study reported that lavender oil inhibited the generation of singlet oxygen, which causes the most damage in response to UVA/UVB radiation (Sakurai et al 2005). This suggests that the regular use of lavender oil in skin preparations could suppress the aging effects of sunlight on the skin. Lavender oil has shown excellent antioxidant activity in several assays (Yang et al 2010). On some websites Lavender is claimed to be a photo-sensitizer. Studies have actually found that Lavender oil is not photosensitizing on the skin (Opdyke 1976 p451) and the reports that it is seem to be based on a confusion with another study of a photo allergy reported by just one individual ((Goiriz et al 2007)). Lavender Oil can be very beneficial for people in helping blemished skin. Not everyone appreciates its scent however, and so we don’t use it as widely as we otherwise might. |
| Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil | A calming and soothing oil for the skin when diluted. |
| Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil | Most people recognize Tea Tree Oil as an effective way of controlling bacteria on the skin. However it is very strong and can be an irritant at too high a concentration. We use a small amount of Tea Tree Oil in our Scalp Cream. |
| Humulus Lupulus (Hops) Extract | Cosmetic creams need to stay pure from bacteria. That is why ingredients like Parabens etc are used by a lot of companies. These work great at achieving their aim, but a lot of our “customers” are very young children. Sometimes accidents happen and so we aim to make our creams as food like as possible. We worked for over a year to develop a preservation system based on Hop Extract. All our creams have now been checked for preservative efficacy using the British Pharmacopeia test. We are very proud that we are probably one of the first companies to develop this natural and edible anti-bacterial system into our creams. |
Thank you. When my bub was 2 months old she developed cradle cap so after reading some forums I went out and bought some moo goo scalp cream. It worked a treat and within the cradle cap was gone....AWESOME!!
Then in the weeks following, a number of new mums talked about baby's dry skin and cradle cap and that nothing was getting rid of it. When I mentioned that I had used Moo Goo Scalp Cream, they each went and bought some and had the same experience as me with it working within one or two applications. Your cream is . Thank you from so many of us in my mothers group and friends with babies. :-)

Hi MooGoo
These are the pictures of Keira, at first everyone was just telling me it was hormone rash and would clear up but after 2 more months of waiting it never did. Keira also has cradle cap which also was on/around her eyebrows. I felt really rough like sandpaper, and dry too, but now her skin is all smooth and really nice to touch.
She was born on the 25th March so she is 3 months in these pics. The first one was taken on 25th June, the second on 27th June and the third on 30th June. The only editing was to remove red-eye, and you're more than welcome to use them on your website.
Thanks to all the hard working moogoo'ers and my sister in law for knowing about your products, Keira is silky smooth.
Kindest regards

I normally don't do this kind of thing, but just wanted to write and tell you how much we appreciate using your product after just one week. My duaghter is 3 years old and has had ongoing issues with what the doctors have been telling us is a fungal infection spot on her leg and one on her arms. prescriptions of [edited due to regulations] creams of various kinds and as soon as we stop using it, the spots returned. This has gone on for more than 18 months. my mother-in-law is a retired chemist who put us onto Moo Goo. I got a pack with the psoriasis cream, but also thought I would grab the scalp cream as well, as I have had consistent and ongoing dandruff issues for years. both the spots and my scalp have cleared up in literally 4 days. We no longer have to put cortizone on our daughters skin, which is just wonderful... plus my scalp is not itchy... and the added bonus is that my estimation of my mother in law is increased. A win, win, win. thank you.

Just some feedback. I got your scalp cream, shampoo and conditioner a week ago. After the first use my hair and scalp felt amazing and totally cleared up any redness or dandruff which I had had for years. My hair would sometimes fall out too but no more. I used to run my hands through my hair every wash and have hairs in my fingers but it's totally stopped. My hair feels and looks fantastic. Moogoo fixed it in a day basically. Thankyou very much! I told everyone I know to switch to your shampoos and conditioners it's amazing.

Hello Moogoo people, I received not one but 2 sample creams - thanks so much. My daughter had immediate relief from the dermatitis on her scalp by using the shampoo and conditioner. She is 24 years old and has had the condition since she was about 7. We have tried all sorts of products to relieve the stingy itch and your shampoo and conditioner did the trick nicely. We applied the scalp cream as soon as it arrived and the cream soothed the red welts on the back of her neck and base of the scalp. The welts have since become just dry flakey skin which I have no doubt will improve with time. Thanks again for your promptness and I will recommend your products to my friends and family.
Cheers,
Judith
